Dorothy M. Knapp, 93, of Willmar, died Thursday, June 3, at Willmar Commons Care Center in Willmar.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be at a later datein Oakes View Cemetery in Oakes, North Dakota.
Dorothy Margaret Knapp was born August 30, 1916, to Edward and Helen (Walter) Knapp at home on the farm near Oakes, ND. She was the oldest of three children. Her formative years were spent with her family on farms around Oakes, ND. She attended grade school at Climax #3 and graduated from Riverdale Consolidated High School in May 1936.
Following high school Dorothy spent her working years as a housekeeper and house cleaner. Most of those later years were spent in Fargo, ND. Dorothy loved flowers and raised violets. After retiring she moved to a high-rise apartment building in Fargo, where she lived for 21 years. In March of 2007, Dorothy moved to Willmar Commons Care Center in Willmar, MN to be close to her brother George and family.
Dorothy is survived by her brother: George (and Helen) Knapp; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Eliene Gordon.
