Douglas E. Anderson, age 62, of Grove City, died unexpectedly Friday, April 14, at his residence from an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, at the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Douglas Edward Anderson was born on February 19, 1955, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the son of Carl E. and Dorothy M. (Buehler) Anderson. He grew up on the family farm near Grove City, graduated from Grove City High School in 1973 and attended the Willmar Vo-Tech Farm-Ag program. Douglas returned to work on the farm with his family and in 2003, purchased the family farming business. He was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Litchfield and a current member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding motorbikes, traveling with friends to Florida and spending time with his family and canine companion, Red.
He is survived by three siblings, Janice (and Allen) Clause of Plymouth, Sharon Anderson of Litchfield and Donald (and Kristy) Anderson of Atwater and several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
