Raymond, Minnesota
Edward J. Albrecht, age 70, of Raymond, died Friday morning, March 30th at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Visitation will be from 3-5 P.M., with a prayer service at 3 PM on Sunday, April 1, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Edward John Albrecht was born on January 29, 1937, in Mankato, Minnesota the son of Wilma (Mason) and Gustave Albrecht. He grew up and received his education in Lakefield and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1954. In July of that same year, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. In 1958 he was married to Ann Bannister and they lived in San Diego, California. Ann died in 1960 and Edward was discharged from the Marine Corps Reserves in July of 1962. He moved to Minnesota in 1971 and on February 1, 1974 was married to Beverly R. Snyder in Breckenridge. They made their home in the Spicer and Willmar area and in 1996 moved to Raymond. Ed worked for several years as a truck driver for West Con in Raymond and was a member of the Willmar Eagles Club and the American Legion Post. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping and taking walks.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, three daughters; Mary Albrecht of St. Louis Park, Rebecca Snyder of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Rhonda Albrecht (and Frank Vallejo) of Willmar. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Frankie and Aryanna Vallejo and Cortney and Jake Snyder, besides other relatives and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents.
