Eldon Marvin Felt was born August 28, 1939, in Wakefield, Nebraska, the son of Reuben and Inez (Felt) Olson. Eldon's mother died two days after his birth. At the age of four, Eldon and his twin sister were adopted by their uncle, Robert Felt, and his wife, Nora, of rural Kerkhoven, Minnesota.
