Elizabeth "Bette" Jule Engebretson, 83, of Spicer, died Sunday, June 24, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 at Augusta Cemetery- Marietta, Minnesota. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bette was born November 13, 1928, in Maynard, Minnesota, the daughter of Owen and Viola (Pfister) Jorgenson. She grew up on a farm near Marietta and received her education in the Marietta schools. On December 22, 1945, she married Marlow Engebretson, they lived and farmed in the Marietta area. In 1956, they moved into Marietta and in 1969, they moved to Spicer. Bette was employed over 15 years in the housekeeping department of the Willmar Regional Treatment Center, retiring in 1993.
Bette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. She enjoyed flower gardens, bird watching and caring for her son, Ron.
She is survived by her sons: Ronald Engebretson of Spicer and Dennis (and Hafizan) Engebretson of St. Paul; her daughter: Marie (and Mark) Harris of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren: Karen and Andrew; a great-granddaughter: Charlotte. Also surviving is her sister: Mary (and Jerry) Jackson of Richfield; besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Marlow; her parents and a brother: Jerry Jorgenson.
