Ellen Lane, 76, of Willmar, died Sunday, January 10, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ellen was born July 8, 1933, on the family farm near Clara City, Minnesota, to Sinus and Edna (Gerdes) Koenen. She grew up in the Clara City community, was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and graduated from Clara City High School in 1951. She married Gordon Lane on June 12, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. They lived and farmed near Raymond until 1994, when they moved to Willmar. Ellen was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Raymond and a current member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. Ellen and Gordon winter in Apache Junction, Arizona, from 1990 to 2003.
She is survived by two sons: Larry (and Shelly) Lane of Hutchinson and Robert (and Vicki) Lane of Raymond; a daughter: Barbara (and Greg) Reiner of Columbia Heights; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Gordon in December 2008; and a brother: Alvin Koenen.
