Elmer G. Blom, age 81, of Willmar, formerly of Raymond, died Monday morning, December 11, at the Infinia Health Care Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 14, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar with Rev. Albert DeVries officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Raymond. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Elmer Gerrit Blom was born February 16, 1925, at Edgerton, Minnesota, the son of Emma (Van Houtan) and Gerrit Blom. He was baptized at the Edgerton Christian Reformed Church, grew up and attended school in the Prinsburg community and professed his faith at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church. On September 29, 1950, in Raymond, he married Vivian R. Kamstra. For many years they lived and farmed in the Raymond community. They later moved to Willmar and for the past four years Elmer resided at the Infinia Health Care Center.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian; a son, Larry (and Norma) Blom of Raymond; a daughter, Susan (and Jonathan) Anderson of Roseville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Harms of Montevideo and Helen Miersma of Pipestone and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Douglas and Myron; three brothers and a sister.
