Erik Moulton, age 73, of Atwater, died Sunday, April 20, at the St. Cloud Hospital with his family at his side.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Scott Erik Moulton was born July 10, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Jack and Viola (Solsem) Moulton. He grew up in Denver and attended North High School. He married Janet Fullenwider and they had two children, Scott and Douglas. They lived in Denver, where Erik worked as a finish carpenter and a barber and also owned and operated an auto body business, Viking Detail. Erik and Janet divorced and Erik later married Jan Mansfield, who had four children, Stephanie, Lonnie, David and Michael. They later moved to Fairplay, Colorado. Jan passed away in 1985. Erik married Rachel Eakins on May 7, 1985 and they had two children, Ingrid and Rilee. They moved to Green Lake in Spicer, where Erik built their home. They moved to Atwater in 2007.
Erik was a handy man and could fix almost anything. He built hot-rods and enjoyed wood-working. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on his family. He was also very proud of his Norwegian heritage. Most of all, he loved his family and would drop anything to help his family members.
He is survived by his children, Scott Moulton (and Jeanette Stevens) of Atwater, Douglas Moulton of Litchfield, Stephanie (and Bruce) Houston of Erie, CO, Michael (and Laura) Mansfield of Vail, CO, Rilee Moulton (and Sarah Thiede) of Morris, and Ingrid (and Michael) Gjerde of Sunburg; seven grandchildren, Brooklyn Monson, Dakota Moulton, Zach Quimby, Jesse Quimby, Nicole Houston, Steffie Mansfield and Kevin Mansfield; two great-granddaughters, Madison Quimby and Lux Quimby; two brothers, Jack (and Ann) Moulton of Golden, CO and David (and Nancy) Moulton of Salida, CO; his ex-wife, Janet; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Jan Moulton in 1985 and Rachel Moulton in February 2014; a daughter, Lonnie Mansfield; and a son, David Mansfield.
