Ethel Lula Gabrielson, age 87, of Atwater, died Thursday afternoon, February 4, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 9, at the Atwater Funeral Home. The interment will be at Tripolis Lutheran Cemetery near Kandiyohi. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Atwater Funeral Home on Tuesday.
Ethel Lula Gabrielson was born on February 16, 1922, near Lake Lillian, Minnesota, the daughter of Axel and Amanda (Howe) Gabrielson. She grew up in the Lake Lillian community and received her education from the District #43 school. She lived at home with her mother for many years and in 1991, became a resident at Presbyterian Family Foundation. Ethel was employed through the Kandi-Works.
She is survived by six brothers, Raymond Gabrielson of Vancouver, WA., Norman Gabrielson of Hector, Clarence Gabrielson of Minneapolis, Alvin (and Marlene) Johnson of St. Paul, Roger (and Beverly) Johnson of Minneapolis and Allen (and Diane) Johnson of Blaine and one sister, Grace Peterson of Atwater, besides many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Albert Johnson; three sisters in infancy, Ruth Gabrielson, Darlene Johnson and Arlene Johnson; one brother, Harvey Gabrielson; sister-in-law, Grace Gabrielson; brother-in-law, Eugene Peterson and one nephew, Roger Johnson, Jr.
