Eunice B. Sutton, age 99, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday, November 8, at the Bethesda Grand.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, at the Bethesda Grand Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Green Lake Lutheran Cemetery near Spicer. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Eunice Bernice Sutton was born on August 1, 1923, in Spicer, Minnesota, the daughter of Knut and Anna (Haverly) Knutson. She grew up and received her education in the Spicer community and later attended business school. On January 14, 1951, Eunice was united in marriage to Raymond H. Sutton. They lived in California, Maryland and throughout the upper mid-west. She was employed for many years in retail and financial services. In 1999, they moved to Spicer and in 2010 moved to Willmar. Since 2017, she has resided at Bethesda. Eunice enjoyed walking, sewing, gardening and birdwatching. She was also a big fan of baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins.
She is survived by her three children, Jefray (and Holly) Sutton of Burnsville, Adrienne “Reeny” (and Dale) Thompson of Princeton and Mariana (and Monty) Schunk of Burnsville; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Simon Knutson of Willmar and one sister, Mavis Gunderson of Willmar, besides numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 2020; two brothers, Herman and Raymond Knutson; two sister, Gladys Weihr and Agnes Lane; and one granddaughter, Anarae Schunk.
