Evelyn M. Fullerton, age 90, of Willmar, died Thursday evening, November 6, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, at the United Methodist Church in Willmar with Rev. Chad Gilbertson officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 17, with a 7 p.m. Eastern Star Service at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church. A private internment will be in the Lundby Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church Care Committee.
Evelyn Marie Fullerton was born October 10, 1918, in Walworth, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ever and Catherine (Lambert) Peterson. At the age of eight, her family moved to Ottawa, Illinois, where she grew up, graduating from Ottawa High School. She attended Beauty College in LaSalle, Illinois, and worked as a beautician in Ottawa.
On November 14, 1938, she married Nathan L. Fullerton, Jr. They farmed by Norway, Illinois until 1949 when they moved to a farm near Amboy, Minnesota and in 1956 to a farm east of Blomkest , Minnesota . Nathan retired from farming in 1980 and they moved into Willmar in 1991.
Evelyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Willmar, the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary, AARP and Willmar Area Senior Citizens. She was also a former 4-H leader and disabled swimming volunteer.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (and Don) Shaw of Spicer, Lynn (and Darrell) Steberg of Lahaina , Hawaii , and Christine Fullerton (and Bruce Miller ) of Hayward, Wisconsin; a son, Robert (and Cenen) Fullerton of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Mervin (and Elsie) Peterson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nathan in 1999; four brothers; two sisters; a grandson; and a daughter-in-law.
