Evelyn Johnson

April 16, 1914 — February 14, 2008

Evelyn Christine Johnson, age 93, of Willmar, died Thursday morning at the Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, Feb. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Willmar with Rev. George Brecheisen and Rev. Pablo Obregon officiating. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born on April 16, 1914, in Niobe, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Christine (Berglund) Larson. She grew up and received her education in North Dakota. On March 6, 1934, Evelyn was married to Roy Lungstrom and they lived in Willmar and later moved out to the north shore on Green Lake. Roy died on April 10, 1971. On July 12, 1986, Evelyn was married to Les Johnson and they lived in Willmar. Les died on June 13, 1989. Evelyn was a homemaker her entire life. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Willmar where she was involved in bible studies. She was also a member of the Willmar Senior Citizens and the Green Lake Garden Club. In 1994, she moved into Sunrise Village.

She is survived by one son, Doug (and Jo) Lungstrom of Blaine; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving is a stepson, Bob (and Jean) Johnson of New Ulm; one step-daughter, Mary (and Dennis) Schlueter of Fort Collins, Colorado and six step-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Roy Lungstrom and Les Johnson; five brothers, George, Martin, Lyman, Ernest and Franklin Larson and a sister in infancy.
