Florence M. Bonnett, age 90, of Willmar, died Tuesday afternoon, March 1, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Svea Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Florence was born May 6, 1920, in Kanaranzi, Minnesota, to Edward and Anne (Boomgarden) Akkerman. She grew up and received her education in the Kanaranzi and Magnolia communities. In 1942, Florence moved to Long Beach, California to work for McDonald Douglas Aircraft Company during W.W. II. On April 3, 1943, Florence was united in marriage to Darrel D. Bonnett. They lives and farmed in Rock County before moving to a farm in Fahlun Township in 1955. Following Darrel's retirement, they spent 15 winters in Arizona until his death in 2004. She is survived by one son: David Bonnett of Willmar; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Darrel; one son: Jerome in 1973 and three brothers: Lawrence, Clarence and Wayne.
