Florence L. Carlson, age 91, of Willmar, died January 30, at Rice Memorial Hospital - Hospice Care in Willmar, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, at the Assembly of God Church in Willmar. Visitation will be from 12 noon to time of service at the church. The interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Florence Louise Carlson was born on April 5, 1921 to Lillian (Anderson) and John O. Erickson at home in Lake Lillian, Minnesota. She graduated from North High School in Minneapolis, in the spring of 1941. She was united in marriage on February 13, 1948 to Axel M. Carlson of Svea, and they farmed and lived near Pennock for 60 years. Florence was a great cook and baker and the coffee pot was always on. Florence was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Willmar.
She is survived by three daughters: Judy (John) Krans of Faribault, Doris (Jim) Heckman of Blaine, and DeAnna (Gary) Winge of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren: Tony Heckman, Tim Heckman, Jay Krans, Shawna (Krans) Osborne, Mike Heckman, Sean Winge; twelve great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Axel M. Carlson; two brothers, Ross and Elgin Erickson, and four sisters; Irene Landin, Shirley Rosen, Donna Emberland and infant Betty Mae Erickson.
Florence's family gratefully acknowledges the special care given by all the staff at Rice Memorial Hospital and Rice Hospice. They would also like to thank all of her family and friends for their many visits to the house and hospital.
