Florence E. Dzieweczynski (nee Morrison), age 99, of Spicer, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, August 24, at Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Spicer.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery in St. Paul, MN for immediate family at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer. www.petersonbrothers.com
Florence was born on May 18, 1924, in Pennington, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Carry (Gosset) Morrison. Florence was married to Alois Dzieweczynski and they made their home in Cottage Grove, MN. Florence worked as a nurse at Shalom Home, Mounds Parks Nursing Home, and later Haven Homes in Hastings. She was a volunteer at Stone Soup, a community thrift store. She moved to Sandstone, MN to live near her daughter, Carol and later Spicer, MN to live near her daughter, Linda. Florence enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Wolney of Spicer, MN and Donna Koss of Danbury, WI; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wolney (Anne), Shawn Reiher (Sarah), Heather Thompson (Jamie), Jessica Dzieweczynski (Jared Linck), Carrie Koss, Jennifer Sterner (John), and Samantha Koss; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and one daughter-in-law, Sandy Borst, besides many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alois; son, Marvin; daughter, Carol Reiher; sons-in law, Ronald Wolney and Jerry Koss; and one great-grandson, Jacob; as well as her brothers and sisters.
