Florence Mahn

Florence E. Mahn, age 95, of New London, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 5, at the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at Nordland Lutheran Church near Hawick.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.

Florence Evelyn Mahn was born January 5, 1923, in Kandiyohi County on the family farm to Elmer and Orilla (Williamson) Olson and received her education through country schools.  Florence was united in marriage to Francis Carlson in October of 1944 and lived on a farm in Irving Township.  Francis Carlson passed away on July 16, 1972 and Florence went on to wed Melvin Mahn on July 28, 1981.  Florence was a dedicated member of Nordland Lutheran Church, a frequent attendant of auctions, enjoyed collecting dolls, took delight in playing card games, and most of all she loved to visit with friends and family.

She is survived by several cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Francis Carlson  in 1972 and Melvin Mahn in 1983; and a son, Frank Carlson in 2004.
