Francis Cain

Francis "Frank" P. Cain, age 63, of Willmar, died Friday morning, March 23rd, at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, March 27th, at the Church of St. Mary with Father Anthony J. Stubeda officiating. The interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Murdock. Military Honors will be provided by the Robert Ihlang American Legion Post 537 of New London. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the services. A parish prayer service will be held at 7 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.
Francis Patrick Cain was born on May 13, 1943, in Benson the son of Alice Theresa (Langsdorf) and Peter Henry Cain. He lived with his family south of DeGraff until 1952 when they moved to Willmar. He received his education in the Willmar schools. In 1965, Frank joined the Army, serving two years in Germany, two tours of duty in Viet Nam and later at Fort Hood, Texas. In April of 1967, he was married to Vera Gullickson in Willmar, Minnesota. He was discharged in 1971 and returned to the Willmar area for a short time before moving to Minneapolis. He lived in Minneapolis until 1997 when he moved to Duluth. In November of 2005 Frank returned to Willmar and lived at the Highland Apartments. He was a member of the Willmar Eagles Club. Frank loved being with his family, especially his grandsons and he enjoyed watching old western movies and pulling jokes on anyone and everyone.
Frank is survived by two daughters; Brenda (Johnny) Guess of Salem, Alabama and Tonya (John) Lieser of Belgrade and three grandsons; Joshua, Hunter and Hayden. Also surviving are nine brothers; Peter, Jr. (Verna) Cain of Alexandria, Donald (Sharon) Cain of Willmar, Richard (Iris) Cain of Willmar, William (Jacquelyn) Cain of Willmar, Timothy Cain of Portland, Oregon, Lawrence (Beverly) Cain of Willmar, Patrick (Corby) Cain of Willmar, Michael (Pam) Cain of Kandiyohi and Robert Cain of Willmar and four sisters; Catherine Hay of Willmar, Rose (Douglas) Zetah of Willmar, Patricia (Henry) Ritz of Willmar and Louise Leason of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers (John, Terrance and Thomas Cain).
