Francis Leikvoll

Francis "Frank" E. Leikvoll, age 68, of Lake Lillian, died Thursday evening, August 4, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at a later date in the Lake Lillian Community Cemetery in Lake Lillian, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M on Tuesday, August 9, and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Let's Go Fishing, Kandiyohi County Chapter.
Francis "Frank" Evans Leikvoll was born on April 5, 1948, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Evans and Gladys (Tusha) Leikvoll.  He grew up in the rural Lake Lillian community around Big Kandiyohi Lake and graduated from Bird Island High School in 1966.  Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served overseas in Germany.  Following his military service, Frank received Electronic Technicians training.   Frank was married to Jeri Bergstahler from 1973 to 1980.  They lived near Roseland and had two children, Jason and Ryan.  From 1983 to 2001, Frank was married to Venita Gerloff.  They lived in Benson, Roseland and later near Lake Lillian on Big Kandiyohi Lake and had two children, Andrew and Brittney.   Frank was self-employed in the electronic repair business and later co-founded Sound Image with Art Benson and Steve Arndorfer.  During the 1990's, Frank was employed at M/G Insurance as an Insurance Agent.  In 2004, Frank was severely injured in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed.  During his active years, Frank enjoyed swimming, fishing, listening to classic rock music and attending family socials.  He will be remembered for being a kind and caring person and a good father.
He is survived by four children, Jason (and Brooke) Leikvoll of Lake Lillian, Ryan (and Tiffany) Leikvoll of Lake Lillian, Andy (and Jasmine) Leikvoll of Willmar and Brittney (and Bob) Latchaw of Willmar and seven grandchildren.  Also surviving is his mother, Gladys Leikvoll of Lake Lillian and one sister, Mary Lou Johnson of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
