Francis Emmit Lisecki, age 94, of Willmar, died Friday morning, October 29, at the Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 1, at the Church of St. Patrick in Kandiyohi. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Francis was born on April 12, 1916, on the family farm in Green Lake Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Annie (Johnson) Lisecki. He grew up in the Kandiyohi community and received his education from District 86 School. On October 12, 1940, Francis was united in marriage to Alice Mae Peterson. They lived in Spicer, Atwater, Bird Island, Alexandria and Willmar. Francis was employed as a machinist and mechanic at Atwater Ford. He owned and operated Lisecki Machine Shop in Bird Island. He was later employed at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria in maintenance work. Francis was a member of the Church of St. Patrick. He was a past Fire Chief of the Bird Island Fire Department and past fireman of the Atwater Fire Department. Francis enjoyed bowling, woodworking and was an avid MN Twins fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Lucille (and Kenny) Baumgartner of Park Rapids and Mary (and Ken) Kopel of Maple Grove; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice in 2008; one son, Richard in 2001 and three brothers, Edwin, Thomas and Wencil.
