George Carter Jr

George T. Carter, Jr, age 74, of Sunburg, died Monday morning, October 17, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.



Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Harvest Community Church in Willmar. Interment will be at the Church of God Cemetery in rural Pennock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.



Geroge Taylor Carter, Jr. Was born July 3, 1942, in Gadsden, Alabama, the son of George Taylor, Sr. and Frances Nell (Patterson) Carter.


George died on Monday, October 17, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London, Minnesota, at the age of 74.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Carter; two sons, Dustin Carter (and his wife, Liz) and Shane Carter (and his significant other, Liz); his former wife and mother of his sons, LaVonne; two grandchildren, Zakiah and Kamden; three sisters, Terry MacCain, Sherry Carter Roscom and Tami Haddad; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Frances Carolyn Carter.


George was a barber for over 54 years and loved visiting with all of his customers. George and Mary Ann enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling together. They also enjoyed being on their hobby farm and gardening. Most of all, they loved church and their time spent worshipping there.
