Geraldine Jackson

Geraldine E. Jackson, age 90 of Willmar and formerly of Atwater, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Rosendale United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com

Geraldine Elizabeth Jackson was born on February 4, 1923, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Saldon and Christine (Turck) Peterson. She grew up and received her education in Litchfield and worked in the Litchfield Travelers Hotel with her mother. On Sept. 14, 1947, in Minneapolis, Geraldine was united in marriage to Glenn E. Jackson. They lived and farmed south of Atwater. Geraldine was a homemaker and caregiver for many years. Geraldine enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, watching birds and flowers gardens. She loved to laugh and enjoyed being with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2012, Geraldine entered the Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was a member of the Rosendale United Methodist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Diane Schoutz (and Pat Dolezal) of Rosendale, Sandra Jackson of Lake Lillian, Nancy Jackson (and Jose Mata) of Lake Lillian and Donna (and Duane) Denny of Atwater; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Laura Habben of Robbinsdale, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn in 1978; three sons, Ronald, James and Thomas; one brother, Milfred Peterson and a one-in-law, Patrick Schoutz.
