Gertrude C. Heveron, age 93, of Willmar, died Sunday afternoon, April 14, at the Prairie Senior Cottages in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, with a Daughters of Isabella Rosary Service at 5 p.m. at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Gertrude "Gert" Celina Heveron was born on June 12, 1919, on a farm in Whitefield Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Delia (Vork) Forcier. She grew up in the rural Willmar community, received her education from District #65 and #63 country schools, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church. On January 30, 1940, Gert was united in marriage to Harold "Mike" Heveron. They made their home in the Priam community. She was employed at Molenaar Inc. for many years. Since 2004, Gert has resided at Prairie Senior Cottages in Willmar.
Gert was a life member of the Church of St. Mary. She was a volunteer at her church, 4-H Club, Priam Farmers Union Local, Barn Theatre and Kandiyohi County Historical Society. Gert enjoyed dancing, growing beautiful flower gardens, playing card games and time spent with her family.
She is survived by four children, Allan Heveron of Kandiyohi, Dale (and Swanette) Heveron of Spicer, Janice (and Bruce) Adams of Mayer and Sheryl (and Steve) Fladeboe of Spicer; thirteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Jeanne McCleary of Pennock and Delores Speiser of Litchfield, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike in 1974; a son, Jack in 1999; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn; one grandson, Richard; one great granddaughter, Courtney; two sisters, Pearl and Millie and three brothers, Bud, John and Bernard.
