Gladys E. Laraway, 82, of Willmar, died Thursday, January 3, at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, at First Covenant Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar (www.petersonbrothers.com) and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the First Covenant Church Building Fund.
Gladys was born November 21, 1930, on the family farm east of Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Alvin and Elsie (Norgren) Johnson. She attended country school at Goldenrod in rural Willmar. On July 7, 1947, she married Albert V. Laraway in Willmar. Gladys was a homemaker and worked for many years at Rice Memorial Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, antiquing and spending time with family. Gladys will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Albert Laraway of Willmar; four daughters, Heather (and Craig) Norris of San Jose, CA, Bonnie (and Ron) Jaspersen of Spicer, Cheryl (and Bruce) Long of Rochester, and Debbbie (and Regi) Schindler of Portland, OR; 12 grandchildren, Jason (and Melanie) Norris, Chad (and Dara) Norris, Britton (and Aaron) Jasper, Jon Jaspersen, Jennifer (and Matt) Akerson, Jessica (and Ryan) Hastings, Jeanne (and Chris) Reznecheck, Drew Long, Chad Long, Sarah (and Jon) Padfield, Emily (and Steve) Franceus, and Luke Schindler; 12 great-grandchildren, Kate Norris, Haley Norris, Connor Norris, Nathan Jasper, Bennett Jasper, Andrew Padfield, Ashley Akerson, Aubrey Akerson, Amiah Akerson, Elle hastings, Eagan Hastings and Emma Reznecheck; a sister, Betty (and Jerry) Harder of New London; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Charles; and two sisters, Lila Mae and Ruby.
