Gloria L. Fuchs, age 85, of New London and formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gloria LaVonne Fuchs was born on January 28, 1926, in Murray County on the family farm near Avoca, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Hilda (Amundson) Kirchner. She grew up near Avoca and received her education in country schools. On January 26, 1960, Gloria was united in marriage to Larry S. Fuchs and they lived in the Willmar area. Gloria was a devoted wife and mother, raising her four children. In July of 2010, she entered the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Gloria enjoyed shopping, collecting dolls and being with her family.
She is survived by her four children, Glenn Fuchs of Ramsey, Tina (and David) Seifert of Hutchinson, Walter (and Terri) Fuchs of Lakeville and Donna (and Chris) Ahrendt of Willmar; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Dale (and Dolly) Kirchner of Wauwautosa, WI. and one sister, Lois Behr of Fulda, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry in 1988; one grandson, Callen Fuchs; four brothers, Duane, Dean, Hilder and Leland and one sister, Geneva.
