Grace B. Schneider-Lundquist, age 101, 11 months and 26 days, of Willmar, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 15, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, February 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Grace B. (Barney) Schneider-Lundquist was born on February 20, 1910, on the family farm in Rhiederland Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota, near Clara City, the daughter of Dena (Bruns) and John Barney. She grew up in that community, was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Reformed Church and received her education at the District 66 rural school. Grace worked for several families in the area. On February 12, 1930, she was married to Herbert H. Schneider and they farmed for many years in Renville County. They moved to Willmar in 1953 due to Herbert's health and she worked for Johnson Produce, Puriton Cafe, Korthuis Jewelers and ran the Sunshine Lunch Wagon and Catering for 25 years. Herb died in November of 1959. In June of 1962 Grace was married to Warren Lundquist. Grace later worked with Kandi Ice and various other businesses in the area. She was active in her community and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church were she had been a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Grace also was a life member of and past President of the VFW Auxiliary, a member and past President of the Rebecca Lodge, member of the Eagles Auxiliary, member and past President of the Royal Neighbors, member of the American Legion Auxiliary and graduated from the Red Cross training. She loved to bake and that was her special hobbie.
She is survived by many nephew and nieces and a very special friend and care giver, Karen Greeley of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, fiance Gordon H. Johnson, eight brothers; Fred, George, Chris, Herman, Richard, John, Gerit and Albert Barney and two sisters; Angeline Carlson and Anna Barney in infancy.
