Gregory Dahl

Gregory J. Dahl, age 59, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, January 13, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, at the Bethesda Heritage Center Chapel with Pastor Theresa Kraft officiating. Interment will be in the Sparta Cemetery near Granite Falls. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the new Bethesda Chapel fund or Rice Health Foundation for Dialysis Center are preferred.

Gregory John Dahl was born on June 29, 1956, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, the son of Harold and Luella (Harbour) Dahl. Gregory grew up in Granite Falls, was baptized and confirmed at Granite Falls Lutheran Church and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1975. Following high school, he began working as a custodian at Granite Falls High School. In 1976, he moved to Willmar. Gregory was employed at West Central Industries, 19th Avenue Bar & Grill, Bonanza Restaurant and Pamida. Most recently he was employed at Target and Kandi-Works. In May of 2014, he moved into Bethesda Heritage Center.

He is survived by his father, Harold Dahl of Granite Falls; five siblings, Doug (and Linda) Dahl of Eagan, Kenneth (and Linda) Dahl of Granite Falls, Kevin (and Pam) Dahl of Spicer, Grady (and Amy) Dahl of Granite Falls and Cheryl (and John) Eckhardt of Clarkfield; and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Dahl of Burnsville, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Luella in 2000; a brother, Derrold in 2009; and a niece, Hilary Dahl in 1989.
