Gunhild C. Gronseth, age 94, of Willmar, died Wednesday, October 14, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 17, at the Bethel Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Gunhild was born March 5, 1915, in Spicer, the daughter of Gunvald and Anna (Herrigstad) Stockland. She was baptized on June 3, 1929 and confirmed on June 9, 1929 at Vinje Lutheran Church. She grew up in Kandiyohi and Murdock. On August 10, 1942, she married Mervin Gronseth in Sunburg and they made their home in Willmar. Gunhild worked at the Pennock Creamery candling eggs and later in housekeeping at Rice Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially the annual summer and Christmas gathering with her siblings.
She is survived by a brother: Myron (and Betty) Stockland of Willmar; three sisters: Ethel (and Harold) Lee of Minneapolis, Margaret Stockland of Golden Valley and Jackie Mohrbacher of Golden Valley; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Mervin in 2007; and three brothers: Sigvald Stockland, Eli Stockland and Gerhard Stockland.
