WILLMAR
Harold A, Johnson, age 88, of Wilimar, died Friday morning, June 15, at the Rice Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19th, 11 A.M. at the Svea Lutheran Church with Rev. Todd Lynum officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5- 8 P.M. Monday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church prior to the service.
Harold Alexander Johnson was born on September 30, 1918, on the family farm near Svea, the son of Emily E.(Bouska) and Axel T. Johnson. He grew up in the rural Svea community, was baptized and confirmed at the Svea Lutheran Church and attended the Sunnyside School. On November 19, 1949, in St. Paul, he was married to Millicent L. Forsberg. For many years he was engaged in farming on the family farm. He was a former member of the Sunnyside School Board, the Svea Coop Store Board and the church council. He enjoyed hunting, reading and fixing automobiles. He had a deep devotion for the caring of his family and he dearly enjoyed his everyday visits with his friends over a cup of coffee at one of the local restaurants. Harold enjoyed to sing and make up songs for his children while strumming on his guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Millicent, six children, Rebecca Johnson of Lake Lillian, Deborah Johnson of Wilimar, David Johnson of Willmar, Jennifer Johnson of Wilimar, Barbara (and Wayne) Stomberg of Renville, Douglas (and Teresa) Johnson of Willmar; three grandchildren, Stephanie (and Justin) Lewis of St. Cloud, Michelle Stomberg of Wilimar and Matthew Johnson of Willmar. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara (and Wendell) Jones of Ridgefield, CN., besides other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
