Harriet O. Levy, age 92, of Willmar, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 4, at Copperleaf Memory Care in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel in Willmar. Interment will be at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Harriet Orvilla Levy was born on February 27, 1923, near Webster, South Dakota, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Hanson) Smedstad. She grew up in Roslyn, South Dakota and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1941. After graduation, she worked for Munsingwear and Archer Daniels Midland Company. On June 19, 1943, Harriet was married to Julius E. Loseth and they made their home in Fargo, North Dakota. In 1970, they moved to Liberal, Kansas. On September 16, 1971, her husband, Julius passed away. On February 16, 1976, Harriet was married to Max J. Levy in North Grovernorsdale, Connecticut. In June of 1988, they moved to Willmar and Max passed away in October of 1989. In 2013, Harriet moved into Copperleaf Living Center. She was a member of Willmar Area Shrine Auxiliary, Willmar Senior Citizens, the Sons of Norway and Calvary Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting and crafting.
She is survived by her two children, Rick (and Jody) Loseth of Willmar and Carolyn (and David) Swanson of Maple Grove; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands and one sister, Evelyn Bush.
