Harriet Stock Beyer, age 84, died peacefully on April 10, 2012, She was born on December 3, 1927, to the late Rebecca Westhausen Beyer, and the late Henry Rudolph Beyer, near Holloway, Minnesota. She graduated from Holloway High School, as the valedictorian, in Holloway, Minnesota, Minnesota in 1945, and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1946. She married the late Ralph Arthur Stock, from Appleton, Minnesota, in 1946. Mr. Stock was the owner of Stock Motors in Litchfield, Minnesota and the Minnesota Insurance Service in Willmar, Minnesota. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for 5 years in Woodstock and DeKalb, Illinois, where Mr. Stock was the county farm agent. She remained married to Ralph Stock for more than 55 years. Mrs. Stock received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from the University of Minnesota in 1965. She worked as a teacher for the learning disabled in both the Litchfield and the Willmar Public School System from 1965 to 1978. She was also a very skilled gardener and cook, and she loved to give elaborate dinner parties.
Survivors include daughters, Melissa Stock Bayard, (Samuel F. Dupont) of Wilmington, DE, and Emarie Stock Payne (Ben) of Baltimore, Maryland, and a son Maxwell Stock (Bertha) of Pasadena, CA and seven grandchildren. Harriet was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Ralph Stock, and one brother, Orville Beyer, and one sister Virginia Summers.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, April 20, 2012, from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM at Peterson Funeral Home, 700 Becker Ave SW in Willmar, Minnesota. The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 302 Olena Ave. SW, Willmar, Minnesota. The internment will be held at the Fairview Cemetery. Following the service at the grave, everyone is invited to return to the church for a time of fellowship and a light lunch. Those not going to the cemetery may go downstairs and be served their lunch, and wait for the return of the family.
