Harvey W. Haag, age 75, of Atwater, died Thursday evening, December 13, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater with Rev. Christian Strickland officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Atwater Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Harvey William Haag was born September 23, 1932, in Eden Valley, the son of Charles and Emma (Gutte) Haag. He grew up and received his education in the Eden Valley community. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. He married Mary Krotz and they made their home in Eden Valley. Harvey farmed and worked for a mink ranch near Eden Valley. He also worked for Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud. On March 19, 1983, he married Marlys Hanthorn and they made their home in Atwater. For the last 30 years, Harvey worked for the Jennie-O Galaxy turkey farm near Atwater. Harvey was a faithful and dedicated worker. He enjoyed watching sports and loved his dogs.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marlys; two sons, Scott (and Cathy) Haag of Delano and Patrick Haag of Spring Valley; a daughter, Kathy Haag of Kanab, Utah; and two stepsons, Wade (and Shelly) Overlie and Paul Overlie, both of Lowman, Idaho. Also surviving are ten step-grandchildren, Brandon, Cassandra, Bethany, Hannah, Grace, Caleb, Erica, Kelsey, Jacob and Joshua; a step-great-grandchild, Flint; a brother, Herbert Haag; and a sister, Leona (and Eldon) Grosse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bradley Haag; a stepson, Robin Overlie; a grandson, Isaiah Overlie; and a sister, Adeline Haag.
