Helen Zimmer

Helen J. Zimmer, age 64, of Willmar, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen June Zimmer was born April 19, 1944, on the family farm near Raymond, the daughter of George and Sena (Koenen) Zimmer. She grew up in the Raymond community, was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church and graduated from Raymond High School in 1962. She lived on the family farm and farmed with her parents. She was caretaker for her parents when they became ill. For the past 15 fifteen years she helped Herbert Schwanke on his farm. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. She enjoyed her cats, especially Fuzzy.

She is survived by her special friend, Herbert Schwanke of Willmar; a nephew, James DeLong of Pennock and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Hazel DeLong.
