Henry Deike, age 98, of Willmar, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, at his residence in Willmar.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Willmar Assembly of God Church.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

 

Henry Deike was born on October 6, 1924, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the son of William and Wilhelmina (Cassman) Deike.  He grew up in Milroy, graduated from Milroy High School in 1942 and then became engaged in farming.  On November 8, 1950, Henry was united in marriage to Delores Fujan and they made their home in the Marshall community.  Henry worked as a Field Rep for Berg Equipment out of Wisconsin and became a Dealer for Butler Grain Bins & Buildings.  He later owned and operated Deike Construction in Marshall.  He retired in 1990 and later moved to Willmar.  He was a member of the Willmar A/G Church.  Henry enjoyed playing card games, having coffee with his friends at Cub Foods and attending Senior Dining. 

 

He is survived by three sons, Ronald (and Ilse) Deike of Willmar, Donald (and Mary Beth) Deike of Oshkosh, WI., and Daniel (and Jennifer) Deike of Pennock; five daughters, Donna (and Mark) Lunsford of Janesville, WI., Denise (and Gale) Svennes of Lewes, DE., Renee (and Dale) Heimdal of Waconia; Colleen (and Daniel) Arvola of Virginia and Lisa (and Kevin) Knutson of Kalamazoo, MI., and a son-in-law, Randy (and Dorothy) Sather of Florence, AZ.; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren,  besides other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores in 2011; one daughter, Diane Sather; two brothers, Norman and Harold Deike; one daughter-in-law, Jeannie Deike, and his parents.
