Herbert "Herb" L. Feeken, age 91, of rural New London, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 17, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, at the First Lutheran Cemetery of Norway Lake. Military honors will be provided by the New London American Legion Post. Herb was born on March 29, 1933, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of John and Lena (Algents) Feeken. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1951. Herb enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War from 1951-1956. Following his military service, Herb received technical training in Minneapolis for welding. He was employed at Cargill Corporation in Willmar for over 30 years. Herb loved fishing, hunting, telling stories and tinkering around with projects. He was a member of the Norway Lake Association and the First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake.
He is survived by one brother, Bob Feeken of Sun City, AZ.; one niece, Lori Meyer of Carlos; special friends, Gary and Patrice Olson, and their children, Katherine, Christine and Gary Jr., all of Cedar Point, IL.; and Mike Halverson of New London, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Henry and John; and two sisters, Dorothy and Lorraine.
