Howard E. Roberg, age 90, of Spicer, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 18, at the Ren Villa Nursing Home in Renville.

Howard Edward Roberg was born on the family farm on January 24, 1931, in Union Grove Township, Meeker County, Minnesota, the son of John and Olive (Hemingson) Roberg. He grew up and received his education in rural Grove City. From 1954-1956, Howard served in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to farming. On January 24, 1958, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Brooten, Howard was united in marriage to Adaline Knudsvig. To this union they were blessed with two children, Lynne and Allen. They lived and farmed near Lake Koronis prior to moving to Belgrade and Green Lake in Spicer. Howard was a member of Nordland Lutheran Church and later at Peace Lutheran Church. Howard was engaged in farming for much of his life prior to owning and operating a small used car dealership near Regal. His hobbies included playing music (harmonica) in the family band, deer hunting, fishing, working on cars and doing carpentry work.
He is survived by his wife, Adaline of Spicer; his two children, Lynne Roberg of Willmar and Allen Roberg of Spicer; five grandchildren, Jamie, Karie, Kelsey, Blake & Paris; eight great grandchildren, Shelby, Jaylen, Rubie, Keaira, Kylie, Kinley, Tavin and Salem; and one sister-in-law, Elaine Roberg of Paynesville, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dwaine.
