Ingrid Skindelien

Ingrid Skindelien, age 85, of Atwater, died Friday, January 23, at the Assumption Community Home in Cold Spring.
Her family will hold a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake near New London. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Atwater at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ingrid Rosena Skindelien, daughter of Nels and Seri Benson, was born on January 11, 1930, in Wabeno, Wisconsin. She grew up in Wisconsin and Indiana before settling in Atwater, Minnesota.
She married Roy Lund on November 2, 1951 and to this union four daughters and one son were born.
On January 6, 1983, she married Arvid Skindelien. They lived on their farm in rural Sunburg until 2003, when they moved to rural Atwater.
Ingrid loved all animals. She especially loved her horses, chickens, cats and dogs. She was very close to her dogs Katie and Jake. She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing with Arvid, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Lynda Behm of Atwater, Arlene Preslicka of Willmar, Janet Gort (and special friend Lon) of Atwater, Lois (and Jerome) Anderson of Atwater, and John Lund of Atwater; her precious grandchildren, Jason (and Michelle) Behm, Adam Behm (and special friend Linda), Amanda Palmer, Angela (and Jamie) Peters, Waylon (and Jodi) Preslicka, Lorinda (and Mike) Bergstein, Melissa Gort (and special friend Frank), Jamie Gort, Alicia (and Chad) Bierwerth, Adrian (and Deb) Anderson, and Logan Anderson; and eighteen very precious great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Sonja Johnson of Center City, Minnesota; a close nephew, Oscar Trelstad (and special friend Pam) of Minneapolis; and many other nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arvid; three sisters; three brothers; sons-in-law, John Behm and Brad Preslicka; and several nieces and nephews.
