John William "Jack" Doschadis was born July 13, 1935, in Graceville, MN, the son of Ryan and Ethel (Kump) Doschadis. He grew up in Beardsley, MN and graduated from Beardsley High School in 1953. He was engaged in farming almost his entire life. While living in Beardsley he was a longtime board member of the Beardsley Farmer's Elevator, was a member of the United Methodist church and sang in the choir, took part in the long running community "Hee Haw" show, enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1995, he moved to Willmar, MN and later on to Spicer where he enjoyed gardening, yard work and woodworking. He also was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of New London.
He is survived by his very special friend and companion, Betty Anderson of Spicer; his former spouse, Mary Ann "Torchy" Doschadis; three children, Scott Doschadis (and special friend, Donna) of Beardsley; Dee (and Mike) Bonde of Fargo, North Dakota and Rick Doschadis of Glendale, Arizona; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are Betty's children, John (and Tina) Holthusen; and Robin (and Dave) Dohmann and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one half brother, Marvin Doschadis; and one sister, Phyllis Raw.
We'd like to thank the staff at Brookdale of Willmar for their care and kindness and also Rice Memorial Hospital for their great care. A very big thank you for the kind, loving care of Rice Hospice. We appreciate all that you did.
And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker". So God made a farmer. (A quote from Paul Harvey)
