James "Jim" Charles Schneider, 75, of Willmar, died Tuesday, June 8, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., June 10, Thursday, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar with a parish prayer service at 5 p.m. Visitation will also continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Jim was born June 8, 1935, in Willmar, to Charles and Viola (Gunderson) Schneider. He grew up and received his education in the Willmar community. On January 7, 1956, Jim was united in marriage to Donna M. Paulsness and they made their home in Willmar. He was employed in the excavating business and later owned and operated Schneider Sanitation Service for over 50 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary and played on the church softball team for many years.
Jim was an avid walleye fisherman and deer and bird hunter. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and helping others in their time of need. Jim will be best remembered for his loving and caring personality.
He is survived by three children: Brenda (and Ron) DuHoux of Kandiyohi, Tom (and Lori) Schneider of Pennock and Robb (and Robin) Schneider of Redwood Falls; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother: Daniel (and Christine) Schneider of Willmar; one sister: Mary (and Jack) Seeman of Willmar; a sister-in-law; Karen Schneider of Willmar; besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna in 2007 and a brother Kenneth in 1994.
