Janet Ruth Woltjer, age 75, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Monday morning at her residence in Willmar.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28, at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. There is no reviewal or visitation. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Janet Ruth Woltjer was born on February 3, 1939, in Eden Valley, Minnesota, the daughter of Herbert and Lillian (Anderson) Schmidt. She grew up and received her education in the Paynesville and Willmar communities. On April 6, 1957, Janet was married to Fred Herbert Woltjer and they made their home on a farm near Pennock. In 1965 they moved into Willmar. Janet was employed for Vince VanHeuveln and in 1993, began employment at Jennie-O Foods in Willmar. Janet enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Russell (and Becky) Woltjer of Faribault and Joyce (and Dean) Deterling of Clara City; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (and Mary) Schmidt of St. Cloud and special friends, Andrew and June Olson of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred in 2005.
