Janice Iverson

October 16, 1952 — April 28, 2015

Janice Iverson, age 62, of rural Kandiyohi, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday evening, April 28.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Stained Glass Window fund are preferred.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Janice Ida Iverson was born on October 16, 1952, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Werner) Mandelkow.  She was baptized in the name of the Triune God on November 9, 1952.  After being instructed in the Christian faith, she was confirmed on May 29, 1966.  Janice grew up in Belview, graduated from Belview High School in 1970 and attended the Willmar Area Vo-Tech in the secretarial program.  On September 8, 1973, Janice was united in marriage to Steven Jeffry Iverson.  They lived in Willmar and later moved to the Kandiyohi community.  She was employed at Kandi Abstract for a few years and then became a homemaker.  From 1997-2000, Janice was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Steve's Appliance.  In 2001, Janice began employment as a bank teller at Home State Bank.  She was an active member of her church and served on the ladies guild.  Janice enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, cooking, camping and crafting.  She also cherished times spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; three children, Luke (and Michelle) Iverson of Kandiyohi, Jenny Iverson of Willmar and Joshua (and Missy) Iverson of Kandiyohi; and five grandchildren, Hayden, Sophia, Leila, Owen and Aubrey.  Also surviving are three siblings, Joyce (and Richard) VanEps of Ottertail, Cheryl (and Bruce) Anderson of Atwater and Dale (and Jan) Mandelkow of Belview, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law.
