Jean Marlys Hanson, age 72, of Bloomington and formerly of the Willmar and Atwater area, died Thursday evening, June 29th, at the Edina Care and Rehab Center in Edina.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 6, at the Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Rev. Vern Christopherson officiating. There will be no reviewal or visitation. Memorials are preferred to the Transfiguration Lutheran Church or the Fairview Southdale Hospice. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home of Willmar, Minnesota.
Jean was born on May 29, 1934, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Alyce (Flygare) Larson. She grew up in the rural Atwater area and graduated from Atwater High School in 1952. On November 8, 1958, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar, she was united marriage to Ervin M. Hanson. They lived in Willmar, Norwood and moved to Bloomington in 1970. Jean was employed as an accountant at Montgomery Ward Company, Seeley Plastics and other various businesses. She was a past member of Bethel Lutheran Church and present member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed crafts, shopping and watching old movies. She was also active in Topps Club and did volunteer work at the Creekside Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband, Ervin of Bloomington; two daughters, Lynn (and Paul) Anderson of Prior Lake and Cheryl (and Kent) Anderson of North Oaks; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Bruce (and Shirley) Larson of Atwater, James (and Marlene) Larson of Shakopee, and Richard (and Pat) Larson of Naperville, IL., besides other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents.
