Jean G. Schueller, age 87, of Willmar, died Sunday evening, August 27, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar followed by a 7 p.m. Daughters of Isabella rosary service. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Willmar at a later date.
Jean Gladys Schueller was born on July 27, 1930, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Adolph and Gladys (Parker) Steinhaus. She grew up in the Wabasso community and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1948 and then attended business school in Mankato. On August 22, 1951, Jean was united in marriage to Delbert Schueller. They lived in Minneapolis, Omaha, Panama, Redwood Falls, St. Paul and Sioux Falls before moving to Willmar in 1975. Jean worked as a secretary at insurance companies in Omaha and Minneapolis, and at the courthouse in Redwood Falls. In Willmar, Jean was employed at Ben Franklin and Herberger's. She also was a cook at Lafayette School. Jean was an active member of the Church of St. Mary, where she was active with the Daughters of Isabella, Bible study, quilters, church choir, funeral choir, and chair of the Fall Bazaar for many years. Jean enjoyed gardening, flowers, crossword puzzles, cooking and loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Del; seven children, Stephen (and Terry) Schueller of Willmar, Bradley (and Ronna) Schueller of Willmar, Geralyn (and Douglas) Watson of Alexandria, Thomas (and Deanna) Schueller of Willmar, Catherine (and Glenn) Bangen of Willmar, Christina (and Jeff) Ramey of Brainerd, and Michele (and Mike) Miller of Delano; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma (and Donny) Watson of Blomkest; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois Eickhoff; two children in infancy; one granddaughter, Katy Jo Miller and a son-in-law, Jon Horning.
