Jeanne A. Hanson, age 80, of Willmar, died Thursday evening, May 16, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, May 25, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 P.M. and Saturday one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The interment will be private at the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. (www.petersonbrothers.com)

Jeanne Audrey (Peterson) Hanson was born on February 19, 1933 in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Gladys (Nelson) and John Peterson. At the age of 1 her family moved to Rosendale, Minnesota, where she grew up, attended grade school at District 50 in Meeker County and later attended Grove City High School, where she graduated in 1951 as Valedictorian. She moved to Willmar and worked at the welfare office. On December 25, 1953, she married Wesley Hanson at Arndahl Lutheran Church in rural Grove City. They lived in Minneapolis, while Wes attended Dunwoody Institute and Jeanne worked for Hennepin County. They returned to live in Willmar in 1957.

She is survived by her husband, Wesley Hanson of Willmar, 3 sons; Rick (and Deb) Hanson of Kandiyohi, Tim (and Sherry) Hanson of Willmar and Tom Hanson of Willmar and 1 daughter, Kristi (and Brad) Evenson of Roseville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; Corey (and Hannah) Hanson, Kari (and Dan) Hormann, Kelsey (and Jamie) Paurus, Travis Hanson and Kendal Evenson 3 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 9 step great grandchildren, 1 brother, Jon Peterson of Litchfield and 1 sister; Joan (and Merle) Morin of New Hope.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Elaine Wigfield and 2 nephews; Tony and Gregory Wigfield.
