Johnny Sundin

Johnny R. Sundin, age 47 of Willmar, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 27, at his home in Willmar.

Services will be held at 11 AM. Friday, March 4, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Johnny Ray Sundin was born on March 26, 1968 in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of John M. and Carolyn R. (Morgan) Sundin. They lived in the Lake Lillian area for a few years before moving to Willmar in about 1973. He received his education in the Willmar Public Schools, graduating in 1986. He continued his education at Ridgewater College graduating with a degree in Business. Johnny has worked on and off with the Willmar REC Dept. for around 30 years and had been a job coach with Willmar Schools and helped with coaching at Ridgewater College. On August 29, 1999, he was married to Christina Eisenbacher in Willmar and they made their home in Willmar. They moved to Hutchinson where Johnny was employed with H.T.I. He moved back to Willmar after a couple years and has been employed as a House Supervisor with Divine House. He was always active in sports, was a full time softball player with Earls Signs, coached, was an umpire. Johnny enjoyed golfing, a good bonfire, friends and loved being with family especially at the holidays, making sure everyone got together to celebrate the season.

He is survived by one son, Tyler Sundin of Willmar, one daughter, Alexis Sundin of Willmar and his mother, Carolyn R. Sundin of Willmar. Also surviving are two brothers; Daniel Sundin of Willmar and Gary Sundin of Willmar and one sister, Mary Sundin of Willmar, besides other relatives and many friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, John in 2013 and his grandparents.
