Joshua Klaassen

March 24, 1973 — September 1, 2021

Joshua David Klaassen, 48, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on September 1, 2021.

A public visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Joshua was born on March 24, 1973, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Bruce and Deb (Hanson) Klaassen.  He grew up and received his education in Willmar and furthered his education to become a certified welder in 1992.  Josh put his talents to work at New Horizon Farms and Shoppas in Quality Control.  He was a proud father to three beautiful daughters, Haley, Samantha and Aliyah.  The love for his girls would always shine through the smile on his face whenever he shared stories about them.

To say Josh enjoyed fishing was an understatement. He was a member of the Tarrant County Bass Fishing Club, where he fished in at least one tournament a month, on various lakes around the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. Josh grew up fishing and hunting in Minnesota, but after moving to Texas, he realized he had to re-teach himself how to fish. He never caught himself that prized Texas trophy fish, but he sure loved the challenge and getting to race around in his boat. Josh loved spending time with family and friends by opening his home to all who wanted a good meal, share some laughs and drink an adult beverage or two.

Joshua is survived by his father, Bruce Klaassen of Willmar; one sister, Erin Klaassen (and Jeffery Wollschlager) of Clara City; three daughters, Haley, Samantha and Aliyah Klaassen, three uncles and an aunt, Roger Klaassen of Willmar and Brian Klaassen of Kerkhoven and John (and Mary Kay) Hanson; and his significant other, Jessica Davidson and her son, Logan Davidson, both of Ft. Worth, TX, besides many cousins and friends.

Joshua was preceded in death by his mother, Deb Klaassen; one aunt and uncle, Jan and David Hanson and his grandparents, Ernest and Leona Hanson and John and Johanna Klaassen.
