Judy Smith

Judy K. Smith, 70, of Raymond, died Friday, January 6, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Memorial service: will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. The inurnment will be in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar at a later date. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the service. (www.petersonbrothers.com)

Judy Kathleen (Boelter) Smith was born on June 24, 1941, in Willmar, the daughter of Eunice Katherine (Hier) and Howard Richard Boelter. She grew up in Raymond and received her education in the Raymond schools, graduating from Raymond High School. On October 16, 1959, she was married to Lyle Richard Smith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond where she was baptized and confirmed. They made their home in the Raymond area and were members at Trinity Lutheran Church of Raymond and then Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. She was always active in her church and her faith was a beacon to everyone she met. She loved being with her family and watching them grow in stature and faith and she had a way of making everyone feel special. She enjoyed having family time, playing cards, quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking and canning. The grand kids especially enjoyed grandma's potato salad and apple pies.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle of Raymond, two sons; Timothy (and Denise) Smith of Raymond and Burton (and Heidi) Smith of Pennock and one daughter; Raquel Smith of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Brandon, Danielle, Jordan, Logan, Austin, Avery, Asaiah and Hailie, one brother; Michael (and Mary) Boelter of Raymond and one sister; Linda Agre of Bowlus, besides other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, twin boys and one brother-in-law; Dennis Agre.
