Kathleen Carity, 55, of Atwater, died Tuesday evening, May 3, at her home.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Kandiyohi. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.

Kathleen was born December 20, 1955, in Redwood Falls, the daughter of Gordon and Gladys (Mulenburg) Carity. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1973. She attended Alexandria Technical College. On June 12, 1993, she married Tim Damm and they lived in Atwater. They later divorced. Kathy was employed at Jennie-O Foods, Welders Supply, Discount Grains and most recently as a receptionist/bookkeeper at Jesse Trebil Foundation Systems in Atwater. In 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and retired due to her health.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and attending her son's athletic events. She also enjoyed her time spent at the cabin up north, her vacations and spending time with family and friends. She loved the color pink and wearing her pink hat.

She is survived by her son, Lucas Damm; her parents, Gordon and Gladys Carity; a brother, Lee (and Konnie) Carity; and a sister, Delrose Carity (and special friend, Roger Beito) all of Atwater. Also surviving are her nieces, Amy & Kristy Carity, of whom she was extremely proud. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and an uncle, David Carity.
