Keith Kendall

Keith L. Kendall, age 95, of rural Kandiyohi died Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, at his home under the care of Rice Hospice.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Church of the Nazarene in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Keith Lavern Kendall was born February 9, 1922, in rural Mitchell, South Dakota, the son of Marion F. and Abbigail H. (Whitney) Kendall. He grew up and received his early education in the Mitchell area. Keith moved with his family to the Willmar area and completed his last two years of high school, graduating from Willmar High School in 1940. He worked for a short time with the National Youth Administration but returned to farming with his father because of his father's health. On December 27, 1949, he was married to Loraine Ruth Linden at the First United Methodist Church in Atwater, MN. They made their home in the Willmar area where they farmed until they retired in 1975. The next spring they moved to New London, in 1993 they moved to Willmar and for the last year and a half they have lived in rural Kandiyohi. They enjoyed traveling and wintering in the southern states for many years. Keith loved being with family and enjoyed the times when the family went traveling, camping or fishing together. He was a long time active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Willmar.

He is survived by his wife: Loraine of Kandiyohi; and seven children: Sheryl (and James) Alexander of Roseville, Karen (and Michael) Barrett of Inver Grove Heights, Patricia (and Eddie) Carr of DeWitt, IA, Thomas (and Amy) Kendall of Long Prairie, David (and Kelly) Kendall of New London, Abby (and Roger) Schmidt of Kandiyohi and Linae (and Robert) Hahn of Bloomington, IL. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren: Logan Barrett and Shayna Kendall; one brother: Marion W. "Bub" Kendall; and three sisters: Marie Bender, Erma Braatz and Mildred Johnson.
