Kenneth H. Angier, 78, of Willmar, died Saturday, January 1, at his home following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, at the Church of the Nazarene in Willmar. Burial will be at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield at a later date. Military Honors will be provided by Austin F. Hanscom American Legion Post 167 of Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 3, at the Church of the Nazarene.

Kenneth Harlo Angier was born July 23, 1932, in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Ernest and Frances (Johnson) Angier. He grew up in the Litchfield community and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1950. He attended Northwestern Nazarene University. In 1951, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict until his discharge in 1955. On September 29, 1956, he married Mary Gayle Coleman. Kenneth worked as a manager for J.C. Penney in several communities in Minnesota and South Dakota from 1956 to 1970. In 1970, he opened Angier's Retail Store in Benson, which he owned until 1984. He then worked for 26 years as a salesman for Roll-O-Graphics Advertising.

He was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene and served in many capacities, including placing the quotations on the church sign. He was also a member of American Legion Post 167 in Willmar.
He enjoyed fishing, puzzles and singing.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Gayle Angier; two sons: Thomas (and Robin) Angier and Stephan Angier, both of Lee's Summit, MO; a daughter: Brenda (and Jamie) Grothe of Forman, ND; five grandchildren: Mandy Angier, Tiffany (and Chris) Blevins, Kimberly Angier, Jacob Angier and Logan Angier; and three great-grandchildren: Dawson, Mason & Matthew. Also surviving are three brothers: Quincy (and Lorraine) Angier of Portland, OR, Leland (and Dottie) Angier of Brainerd and Cordell (and Jane) Sun City, AZ; a sister: Margie (and Ken) Brown of Spokane, WA; a brother-in-law: Arnie Finkbeiner of Ontario, OR; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Lydia Finkbeiner; and a sister-in-law: JoAnn Angier.
