Kenneth Herbert Dunlavy, age 94, of Willmar and formerly of Raymond, died Tuesday morning, January 1, at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, and will continue for one hour prior to the service, all at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born on May 28, 1913, near Bloomfield, Iowa, the son of George and Goldie (Goode) Dunlavy. He was baptized in the Baptist faith, grew up and received his education in Iowa and near Raymond, South Dakota. In 1938, he moved to Raymond, Minnesota. On September 4, 1940, in Raymond, he was united in marriage to Clara E. Schueler. They lived and farmed southeast of Raymond for many years and in 1989, they retired and moved into Raymond. Kenneth served on the Raymond Creamery board, the Sunnyside School board, the Whitefield Township board and treasurer of the Raymond 4-H club.
He is survived by his wife, Clara of Raymond; one son, Myron (and Marilyn) Dunlavy of Willmar; two daughters, Sharon (and Darwin) Heida of Raymond and Linda (and John) Vreeman of Maple Grove; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sister-in-laws, Pauline Dunlavy of Grand Rapids and Lillian Dunlavy of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Peterson and Dorothy Robinson; and three brothers, Franklin, John and Russell Dunlavy.
